MAGNOODLES: Organic Smart Pasta Now Available in Pittsburgh, PA

Ten years ago, Aileen Magnotto began making homemade pasta in her family-owned grocery store with nothing more than an idea a complex pasta machine imported from Italy. Being a family grocery store with Italian roots, it only seemed natural that Magnotto offer homemade pasta to the community. However, Magnotto wanted to create healthy pasta that was tasty and appealing to kids- one that could “sneak” whole grains and vegetables into a delicious pasta.

After weeks of experimentation, Magnotto developed a healthier pasta that she would feed her family, as well as market to her customers.  Parents loved the nutritional value of her product, and the kids loved the taste and color of the noodles.  When a young child shopping with his mother excitedly referred to Aileen Magnotto as "Mrs. MagNoodle," she knew she had a winning product.

MagNoodles is now available outside her community of Hermitage, PA. In March 2011, MagNoodles LLC was launched at the Expo West Organic Food Show in Anaheim, California.

Magnoodles is currently available in select Pittsburgh stores including McGinnis Sisters, East End Co-op, SunnyBridge Natural Foods, Frankferd Farms, and Naturally Soergels

Whole Grain Durum, Spelt, Kamut, and Semolina- all organic grains derived from Montana are blended with pure carrots, beets, spinach, and tomatoes to create a high fiber, high protein yet delicious pasta with 35g of whole grains per serving.

Founder and President of MagNoodles LLC Aileen Magnotto mentioned there are no additives, enrichments, or colorings in the product and that Organic MagNoodles are eggless, vegan, contain vitamins A, B, and C.

“There is no other product like this on grocery shelves, and my standards were high in creating MagNoodles,” said Magnotto. Spelt and Kamut add a nutritional value not found in other pastas, and the unique blend of grains in MagNoodles produces an extremely smooth palatable pasta.”

Magnotto remains committed to producing a clean, high quality product. As a recent breast cancer survivor, she believes proper nutrition is preventative medicine for many diseases, and whole grains should be enjoyed as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle.

Not only do her children love MagNoodles, but her Italian family members have switched from white pasta to MagNoodles.  The pasta is great served with red sauce, or made as a pasta salad. Her children loved MagNoodles as the base for their Macaroni and Cheese. "How do you MagNoodle?" has become a slogan during her presentations at area stores.

Made in the USA, MagNoodles are packaged in Certified Fiber Sourced boxes, which is part of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative.

A copy of the brochure can be found online by clicking here, and “MagNoodles should be available for online purchase in near future,” Magnotto said.
